Making a mark in sport tourism
The category of sport tourism is very competitive. Cities across Canada and around the world are vying for large scale sporting events. Being picked means a significant economic impact on the host city, and helps foster a sense of belonging and togetherness with residents and businesses.
Leduc is a force in sport tourism in our country. The city asked us to create a very special "lookbook" aimed at event organizers and decision-makers. The intent was to showcase the facilities and the city culture and to help sports organizations to imagine their sporting event was hosted in Leduc.
Inspired by Leduc's ongoing theme "Stand Out", we created a striking cover using large typography and die-cuts.
The interior typography is reminiscent of the city's grid, paired with line illustrations inspired by various sports fields and arenas.
Custom photos highlight the unique amenities found in Leduc. We worked with Darren Jacknisky of Bluefish Studios to photograph local athletes to feature throughout the book to showcase the diverse community that is Leduc Sport Tourism.
The book is lively, bold and memorable, and tells the story of a city ready and willing to do what it takes to make event magic.
